Another debate over Percy Jackson and Harry Potter, but while Percy may have some Harry Potter undertones, he’s nothing like Harry at all.

First off, Percy Jackson deals with the Greek gods while Harry Potter is more about magic. Second, the movie is nothing like the Hary Potter movies. Third, adults (like me) have read the Percy Jackson books and enjoyed them.

So to answer the question, no the Percy Jackson books aren’t even a rip-off of Harry Potter. So there you have it.

  1. Just wait a minute there… first off, when you’re talking about the BOOKS Percy Jackson and the Olympians, and Harry Potter, then do not bring the movies into this. The movies for Percy Jackson had nothing to do with the books, and since you claim you have read the books, you must agree.
And second, you mentioned how you are an adult, you read the Percy Jackson books, and you liked them. I understand that you appriciated the books, but the way your wrote it… “adults (like me) have read the Percy Jackson books and enjoyed them.” Are you suggesting that the Harry Potter books themselves are not as good as the Percy Jackson series?
I like your points, I think some of them have good reason behind them, but I would like more logical reasons. Like, how Percy Jackson and his friends went across the country on quests compared to Harry Potter while he stayed in one spot, but still did enough good.
I like this blog, but it seems more like you’re hating on Harry Potter than telling us how Percy Jackson and the Olympians and Harry Potter are not alike.
